Service Sundays 2016-2017

1st Sunday of each month, 9-10 AM

Introduction

All ages invited to participate. We work together to include everyone.

Please note: Children are invited to attend Service Sunday activities with their families. No children’s classroom activities are provided on the following dates. Nursery will be provided. Some adult education classes continue on Service Sundays. Check bulletin or with class leader for details.

Service Events

SEPTEMBER 4             Interfaith Hospitality Network @ Beth-EL

We need your help to set up bedrooms and get the Beth-El building ready for the families of Interfaith Hospitality Network who will be living there in the coming week.  Tasks for all ages and abilities.

OCTOBER 2                 MCC School Kits @ Beth-El

Come help assemble hundreds of school kits for Mennonite Central Committee.  We create assembly lines to stuff bags with pencils, notebooks, rulers, etc.  Tasks for all ages and abilities.

NOVEMBER 6             @ Laurel Manor Care Center

Visit Laurel Manor Care Center with us and extend a listening ear, a friendly smile or a few words of encouragement to the residents and staff who live and work there.  Children's Cherub Choir will sing for the residents. DECEMBER 4              Refugee family support - Lutheran Family Services

Join us to extend support to a local refugee family and other refugees in our community.  Details and location to be determined.

JANUARY 1                 No Sunday Service project

FEBRUARY 5                @ Laurel Manor Care Center

MARCH 5                    focus on homeless @ Beth-El

Work with other Beth-El folks to create “blessing bags” for homeless individuals.  All those interested will be able to take some to have to give away to those in need on the streets/intersections that they encounter.

APRIL 2                       Teacher appreciation and support to Grant Elementary School

We will extend our love and support to Grant Elementary School.  Details and location to be determined.

MAY 7                         @ Ranch Community Garden

We will work together to get the garden ready for the spring garden season.  Weeding, digging, etc.
