COVID 19 Updates
Congregational Worship
Updated March 3, 2022
BLT has decided to make masks optional during worship and Sunday School, starting on Sunday, March 13. Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts with BLT members about Beth-El’s mask policy. Our decision is based on feedback from individuals, changes in CDC guidelines, and updated El Paso County Health Department recommendations. If you would still like to wear a mask, please do so. We are asking adults in the nursery room and pre-K Sunday School room to continue to wear masks in these rooms. Keep watching for announcements about re-starting potluck meals and/or youth fundraisers coming soon! Thank you so much for being flexible and considerate as we’ve navigated changes throughout the past two years.
Past Updates:
Updated September 3, 2021
A change of COVID policy from Beth-El’s Leadership Team: Following the current El Paso county health department and CDC guidelines, we ask that all adults and children begin wearing masks again when indoors at Beth-El. This request will start immediately due to the rising impact of new COVID cases on our health systems. Please wear a mask indoors regardless of your vaccination status. Thank you for placing the needs and comfort of our community above your own convenience.
Updated: May 30, 2021:
Mask Wearing is optional for those who are fully vaccinated. As a congregation, we are taking this next step toward normalcy in an effort to follow the guidelines recommended by the CDC and by CO health officials. Please be aware that children and others in our congregation are not yet fully vaccinated, and therefore are still encouraged to wear masks while in the building. All are welcome to continue wearing masks as long as they wish.
Updated January 27, 2021:
On Saturday, January 23rd, our county’s metrics returned to level “Orange”. Sunday morning worship will transition from online-only to an online/(physically distanced) in-person hybrid on January 31st. If you need a reminder of what worship will look like, here is a video we put together last fall.
If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to talk with Pastor Jordan, BLT, Worship Planning, or PCRT.
Updated November 13, 2020:
Recently the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) implemented a new tool called the COVID-19 Dial Dashboard. If you are interested in looking at it, click here. The recent uptick in the spread of COVID has put El Paso county’s numbers in Safer Level 3 (orange) for a few weeks.
On November 13th, state and county health officials updated our county risk level to “Orange- High Risk” and implemented further restrictions in an effort to slow the spread of COVID19 and reduce hospitalizations. Given the increasing cases of COVID19 and requests from officials for everyone to make extra efforts to reduce virus transmission, we are going to move to Livestream only worship beginning this Sunday, November 22.
Thank you for doing all you can to help keep yourself and your neighbors healthy and safe during this once-in-a-lifetime season called a pandemic. If you have any insights or questions about the adjustments outlined above, please feel free to talk with Pastor Jordan, BLT, Worship Planning, or PCRT. They’d be glad to hear your input and your hopes for congregational worship.

I am excited to share with you that we are reopening our building to meetings since the metrics in El Paso County have all reached the “Orange” level on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) COVID-19 Dial Dashboard. If you are interested in looking at it, click here.
- We ask all individuals meeting inside to building to wear a mask at all times and maintain 6′ of distance from those outside their households.
- Groups sizes are limited to room capacity with physical distancing, therefore, Room 9 is limited to 15 people & the auditorium is available to groups larger than that.

Per the suggested guidelines from the El Paso County Public Health and Environment.

Updated June 2020:
- Scheduling a space is via calling or emailing Church Administrator, Shelby. Office hours are from 9-4 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
- Meeting outside will normally not provide access to the building or bathrooms. Special arrangements must be made with church staff or representatives if bathroom access is needed.
- Only south hallway single bathrooms will be open. They are cleaned every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
- Groups meeting inside the building are still limited to no more than 10. Groups meeting outside the building are not limited in numbers. Wearing masks and keeping 6 feet apart is recommended.
- If your groups would like to meet inside, please check the church website for guidelines and then contact the office about date, time, and room location. We will require rooms to be sanitized between groups so this will limit the amount of times a room can be used throughout the week.
- All other areas of the building will remain closed including lobby, kitchen, sanctuary, east Sunday School wing, and large bathrooms
